Should we avoid sugar in paleo lifestyle?
Sugar is a refined form of carbohydrate known as sucrose which eventually breaks down to glucose and fructose. Probably the most unwanted effect of sugar on our body is that it inhibits Vitamin C uptake by the cells. This is because both sugar and Vitamin C uses the same pathway to get into cells. Therefore, the higher the concentration of sugar in our bloodstream, the lesser would be Vitamin C uptake by cells.
What is Paleo Diet?
Paleo diet is simply called the cavemen diet. In a way, it is food that is gathered naturally from the wild. Now that agriculture is the prime source of food for mankind, the analogy would be towards an agriculture which is free from chemicals. For meat and flesh, it just means those that have been exclusively fed on grass. In short, we just have to remove the assault of modern time which is basically pesticides and chemicals. For me, the root cause of degenerative diseases are the presence of unauthorized chemicals in our body on a permanent basis.
